Start with the news release Hands-free design takes echo cancellation onboard from Cambridge Silicon Radio, which we summarised at the time by saying "Fully interoperable reference design provides customisable package for OEMs to create a low-cost Bluetooth hands-free kit". Earlier in the week, we featured the news release Kickstart for ULP Bluetooth device development from Texas Instruments (April 2006-): "TI reckons its ZigBee expertise will be valuable in developing the first Ultra Low Power Bluetooth (previously known as Wibree) devices".
 
In May 2007, we covered the news from Broadcom Corp concerning its BCM2046 - take a look at Single-chip Bluetooth goes further and faster which says: "Device is the first to combine Bluetooth 2.1 features, EDR technology and a Class 1 RF transceiver in a single, monolithic chip".
