Start with the news release Set-top decoder targets low-cost box market from STMicroelectronics, which we summarised at the time by saying "Low-cost decoder chip targets standard-definition terrestrial, cable, satellite and IP TV applications, and for both retail and operator-supplied set top boxes". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release DRM to secure consumer SoC deisgns from Micronas USA: "Elliptic has extensive experience in rendering cost effective security solutions in silicon".
