Start with the news release Kontron develops COM Express starter kit from Kontron UK, which we summarised at the time by saying "The Kontron MicroETXexpress evaluation kit offers developers a fast introduction into the compact class of COM Express. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Watchdog timers help avoid system failures from Acces I/O Products: "Acces I/O Products is announcing a series of dedicated watchdog timer boards for PC/104-based embedded systems - Model P104-WDG-CSMA. ".
 
In July 2009, we covered the news from Nu Horizons Electronics Corp - take a look at USB 2.0 UARTs feature internal 48MHz clock which says: "Nu Horizons is offering Exar's latest UARTs featuring a USB 2.0 compliant interface, the XR21V1410/V1412/V1414 series. ".
