We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "IEEE1284", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release PCI bridge chips include super-fast UARTs from Oxford Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "These bridge chips offer tuneable FIFO trigger levels, automated Xon/Xoff in-band and hardware out-of-band flow control and a clock prescaler". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release PMC adapter provides four independent RS232s from Concurrent Technologies: "A new four-channel asynchronous serial communications PMC adapter is suitable for CompactPCI or VME platforms".

In September 2004, we covered the news from Pro-Lite Technology concerning its ProMetric PM-1400 Fast - take a look at Imaging photometer for speedy display testing which says: "New from Pro-Lite Technology is the ProMetric PM-1400 Fast series of CCD-based imaging photometer from Radiant Imaging".

Take a look also at the news release from SBS Technologies, ULV Celeron keeps cPCI SBC running cool, as well as Printer interface takes ESD protection onboard from Texas Instruments (April 2001-March 2006), and Dual-UART bridge chip speeds throughput from GD Technik.
