We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Optical transceiver", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Optical transceivers extend video range from Zarlink Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "Optical transceiver products improve the performance and reduce installation and expansion costs of video surveillance systems". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release Optical cables slash power needs from Finisar Corp: "Laserwire uses fibre optic technology for the transmission of data while reducing the weight, density and power consumption of copper wire".

In September 2007, we covered the news from Pirelli Broadband Solutions concerning its 120km XFP optical transceiver - take a look at Optical transceiver handles 120km transmissions which says: "Pirelli's 120km XFP is designed to address metro TDM and WDM applications, transmitting signals up to 120km without the need for dispersion compensation units".

Take a look also at the news release from Agilent Technologies Europe, Modules put optical transceivers to the test, as well as Postamplifier has designs on fibre optic receivers from Micrel, and 10 million optical transceivers shipped in a year from Finisar Corp.
