We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Packet networks", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Transceiver brings synchronicity to Ethernet from Vitesse Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "First multiport Gigabit Ethernet copper/fibre PHY to include two recovered clock outputs, providing both primary and secondary clock references for a synchronous timing system". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Time is right for Synchronous Ethernet from Zarlink Semiconductor: "Integrated analogue/digital PLLs meet all Synchronous Ethernet timing requirements, including the latest recommendation from the ITU-T".

In June 2007, we covered the news from Zarlink Semiconductor - take a look at Acquisition unites complementary technologies which says: "Zarlink Semiconductor is to acquire voice IC specialist Legerity Holdings".

Take a look also at the news release from Semtech, Collaboration aims for network synchronisation, as well as PLL helps real-time services over packet networks from Zarlink Semiconductor, and TDM traffic over packet networks from Zarlink Semiconductor.
