Start with the news release Asix controller provides Ethernet connectivity from Asix Electronics, which we summarised at the time by saying "Asix Electronics has released the AX88796C, an SPI or non-PCI Ethernet controller with low-power, low pin count and variable voltage I/O for Embedded and Industrial Ethernet applications. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Modem reference design available for licence from U-blox: "U-blox's N731 is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA modem reference design that is available for licence to OEM customers for high-volume applications. ".
 
In February 2010, we covered the news from Linear Technology - take a look at Linear launches 1A DC/DC regulator system which says: "Linear Technology has introduced a complete 1A DC/DC regulator system in a package. ".
