We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Power factor correction", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Rack-mount power system keeps its cool from XP Energy Systems, which we summarised at the time by saying "Modular rack-mount power system is designed to provide 240 to 1440W and is protected for industrial use". Earlier in the week, we featured the news release Power supplies work without cooling fans from Powersolve: "PSL400BP baseplate-cooled AC/DC units can be mounted in a sealed box as long as the external heat sinking can maintain the baseplate at a temperature of 80C or below".

In January 2008, we covered the news from International Rectifier concerning its IRS26302D gate driver IC - take a look at Gate driver IC resists negative voltage which says: "International Rectifier's IRS26302D incorporates negative voltage immunity circuitry to protect the system from catastrophic events such as high-current switching and short-circuit conditions".

Take a look also at the news release from Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network, Briefings explain EuP Directive requirements, as well as Telecomms rectifiers go up the wall from Unipower Europe, and Universal switchers put more power on the desktop from PIV Technology.
