We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Serdes", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release Transceiver brings synchronicity to Ethernet from Vitesse Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "First multiport Gigabit Ethernet copper/fibre PHY to include two recovered clock outputs, providing both primary and secondary clock references for a synchronous timing system". A couple of weeks before, we featured the news release FPGAs support SFI-5 optical comms standard from Altera Europe: "The SFI-5 specification is a chip-to-chip standard that ensures interoperability between forward-error correction and the framer, as well as from industry-leading optical transponder devices".

In January 2008, we covered the news from PMC-Sierra concerning its MSP7160 - take a look at Access device is at home in residential gateways which says: "Delivers gigabit-per-second IPv4 or IPv6 routing, network address translation and quality of service features".

Take a look also at the news release from Lattice Semiconductor UK, Low-cost serdes FPGAs available in volume, as well as Optical interfaces boast top bandwidth from Xilinx, and Packet switches use third-generation serdes from IDT.
