High-frequency power chokes offer less
It's not every day that a choke manufacturer promises less, but that is exactly what Almag is offering for its Type WK 4L high-frequency power chokes.
It's not every day that a choke manufacturer promises less, but that is exactly what Almag is offering for its Type WK 4L high-frequency power chokes Less capacitance, less resistance, less core loss and less acoustic noise are all claimed
Lower capacitance and lower resistance come from the novel winding techniques used, and lower core loss and lower acoustic noise come from the use of low-loss low-magnetostriction Sendust toroidal cores.
Target applications for these 4L chokes are: as power-factor correction chokes; as output storage chokes; and as series-mode EMC chokes, to be used in high-frequency power supplies, battery chargers, lighting ballasts and switching regulators.
Current ratings are from 0.3 to 40A, with inductance values up to 4.8mH and ripple frequencies up to 360kHz.
Sizes range from 21 to 66mm diameter.
