Chokes promise precision suppression
The newly expanded VCM range of common-mode EMC suppression inductors offers designers an extra-wide range of chokes to help avoid design compromises.
The newly expanded VCM range of common-mode EMC suppression inductors offers designers an extra-wide range of chokes to help avoid design compromises The philosophy of Almag has always been to offer the customer the widest possible choice of choke, rather than having to compromise their design by choosing from a very restricted range of "catalogue" types

High-frequency power chokes offer less
It's not every day that a choke manufacturer promises less, but that is exactly what Almag is offering for its Type WK 4L high-frequency power chokes.
The newly expanded VCM range of toroidal common-mode EMC inductors meets this aim, offering all of the normal inductance and current ratings and mounted on the industry-standard pinned base, but with extra types added for 1.5, 2.5, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13A ratings.
In addition, alternative versions are offered for current ratings above 9A, still mounted on the same base for pin-compatibility but using a larger ferrite core to give typically twice the inductance.
The whole range of 21 choke types covers current ratings from 0.8 to 13A, with common-mode inductances of up to 25mH per phase.
