Bluetooth development in a box
A novel all-in-one Bluetooth box contains everything a design engineer requires to evaluate type-approved Bluetooth communications without any prior expertise in either the protocol or in RF design.
A GBP 1250 Bluetooth box available from Abacus Polar contains everything a design engineer requires to evaluate type-approved Bluetooth communications within a current project or projects equipped with a UART serial port, without any prior expertise in either the protocol or in RF design Designated as the National Semiconductor BT-TXA-KT1-0-01, the Bluetooth box offered by Abacus Polar contains full development support for National's recently announced Simply Blue serial port family of modules, including a development/demo board, demo instructions, example high level design scripts, and detailed technical support documentation

Connectors allow easy field use
Polarising tabs help provide proper mating while latching features help provide a secure connection, even under mechanical stress and vibration in industrial environments.
Targeted at developers of Bluetooth access points, instrumentation, set top boxes, peripherals and cameras, the Simply Blue development kits from Abacus Polar allow fast and risk free evaluation and implementation of Bluetooth wireless communication in any design.
The kit is based on the LMX9820 Simply Blue serial port module, which is a highly integrated radio and baseband system implemented on a substrate.
It includes a complete embedded v1.1 compliant Bluetooth protocol stack, application specific profiles and a command interpreter, and interfaces simply to the host application through a UART serial port.
A key feature is the negligible host processor task loading.
The entire stack and profiles run on the module, eliminating the need to port the Bluetooth to the host operating system.
Simply Blue modules also feature a small footprint of only 10.1 x 14.0 x 1.9mm.
They provide metal can shielding and radio front-end filtering for effective immunity to close proximity radio noise that is a common issue in most current portable wireless devices.
The devices also include nonvolatile memory to support all Bluetooth wireless parameter storage needs, as well as firmware upgrades in the field.
