All software tools are limited to use with the Ez-Kit Lite product.
Analog Devices Blackfin processors enable efficient signal processing in applications such as videos, image, and voice data combined with the flexibility of a true RISC microcontroller environment.
This unified programming model eliminates the complexities traditionally associated with multiprocessor systems consisting of individual signal and control processing elements.
Analog Devices offers Blackfin-based reference designs to help designers reach key markets quickly, including an e-media platform and a telematics platform.
The e-media platform offers software algorithms and interfaces to encode/decode today's leading audio/video standards, including Windows Media Audio and Video 9 Series, to multiplex media streams including packetisation and jitter buffering, and to manage digital rights protocols.
By handling all of these functions entirely in software, the flexible Blackfin e-media platform gives OEMs the assurance of fast updates or adoption of new media formats as they are developed.
Similarly, the telematics platform draws on Blackfin core functionality such as GPS, hands-free operation, microphone array, voice-activated control, GSM interfaces, and car audio play/record of MP3 and WMA content.
The Blackfin car telematics platform uses the ThreadX embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) from Express Logic, allowing these multiple functions to run concurrently while sharing the system resources among them.
In addition, the Blackfin car telematics platform includes Java support, providing added benefits such as ease of programmability as well as interoperability and compatibility across multiple platforms.
