Schurter has signed the Abacus Group as a franchised distributor Abacus is one of the UK's leading component distributors, and has offices and commercial partners throughout Europe

Abacus was recently ranked number one in Europartners' distributor listing by industrial sales 2002, an important application sector for Schurter's ranges of switch and fuse products.

The distributor has strong "on the ground" coverage nationwide with its network of regional offices and a large team of more than 70 sales engineers.

"Flexibility is key to its operation, and we feel confident that Abacus' quality procedures and customer driven service complements our own high quality approach to component manufacturing", says Kevin Turner, Managing Director of Schurter.

"Our partnership will ensure that we are reaching more of the UK's design engineers at the earliest stage of new product development, informing them of the benefits of incorporating Schurter's innovative solutions".

The Abacus Group range of products covers a wide variety of complementary components including semiconductors, passives, electromechanical components, opto devices and interconnect products.
