Abacus expands portfolio of I/O connectors
Abacus Group is expanding its portfolio of I/O connectors with the introduction of a Shielded Compact Ribbon (SCR) interconnect system.
Like for like sales increased to GBP 77.7 million from GBP 73.2million last year.
Profit before tax and goodwill fell 4% to GBP 4.0 million.
Operating cash generation was GBP 6.2 million, up from GBP 3.8 million the year before.
Like for like overheads increased 9% to GBP 14.2 million due to increased employee costs.
The interim dividend increased by 3% to 3.5p per share.
Earnings per share, including goodwill, were 5.4p, down from 6.1p the year before.
Commenting on the results, Harry Westropp, Chairman, said: "Marked improvements to UK trading conditions, together with strong performance indicators, give us increased confidence in our prospects, but other factors make us remain cautious".
"Our strong order book and book to bill ratio put Abacus in a good position for the second half".
