Abacus Group has acquired Telecom Design Communications (TDC), a specialist distribution business based in Basingstoke, with sales in the last financial year of GBP 4 million.

Abacus Group has acquired Telecom Design Communications (TDC), a specialist distribution business based in Basingstoke, with sales in the last financial year of GBP 4 million Abacus Group paid GBP 2 million in cash for the business

Following the acquisition, TDC will continue to operate as a separate company within the Abacus Group.

Jerry Sandys will continue as Managing Director of TDC reporting to Graham McBeth, Managing Director of Abacus ECD.

Martin Kent, CEO of Abacus Group, commented: "TDC brings to the Group a number of excellent niche franchises including Conexant and Navman and significantly strengthens our relationship with Siemens Wireless Modules".

"We believe that TDC has excellent products and people combined with good knowledge and experience and which will strengthen the group's embedded systems capability".

Jerry Sandys welcomed the acquisition saying: "As part of Abacus, we are able to offer our franchises greater customer reach and market access, and our customers the benefit of the backing of an international, listed company".
