McBeth takes charge

Commenting on the move, Martin Kent, Abacus Group CEO, said: "Graham McBeth has 20 years experience in the industry, nine of these with Abacus".
"His new role is designed to allow the whole ECD organisation to capture the benefits of this experience".
The ECD companies include Abacus Polar, Micromark C and CD, Silicon Concepts, TDC and Promax.
Kent added: "Martin Brooks has shown impressive leadership in his role as Marketing Director of Abacus Polar, and brings a unique combination of technical insight and management skills to his new position".
Prior to his promotion, Graham McBeth was Managing Director of Abacus ECD, its UK and Ireland component distribution businesses, and General Manager of Abacus Polar.
He joined Abacus in 1995, as Marketing Manager, after 11 years with National Semiconductor in product marketing and sales roles.
He holds an MA in economics, as well as an electronic engineering qualification.
Martin Brooks, who takes over from, and reports to, McBeth in his new position, has been with Abacus Group for six years, joining as Marketing Manager for Semiconductors.
Prior to this, he spent four years with ESD (now Arrow) in technical management, and two years with Phoenix Electronics as a Sales Engineer.
