Promotions for Wood, Heafey and Nicol
Abacus Group has strengthened its organisational structure by promoting three of its key executives to group-wide, pan-European roles.

In his new role as Director of Operations, Jeremy Wood takes responsibility for all back-office infrastructure, including the enhancements needed in IT systems, as well as system processes legal and contractual obligations and regulatory compliance.
A particular responsibility is staff training in these processes and other areas.
He has over twenty years in Electronic Component Distribution, including 14 years at Abacus.
Paul Heafey becomes Director of Logistics and will look at warehousing and transportation on a Europe-wide basis, with the aim to making each warehouse a centre of excellence.
He has spent six years with Abacus, leading the team that designed and opened Abacus Group's Distribution Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Heafey has 24 years experience in logistics in the electronics and chemical industries.
As Director of Inventory, Greg Nicol will take charge of the management of inventory levels throughout the group, and look at related issues such as RoHS compliance.
He will use his Europe-wide brief to try to identify cost-savings and synergies across the Group.
Nicol has over 20 years of purchasing experience in the electronic component distribution business.
