Abacus Embedded Systems Group is to resell Microsoft Windows Storage Server products to application specific computing and storage appliance OEMs, building on its successful partnership with Microsoft According to Nick Donaldson, Abacus Embedded Systems Group has demonstrated outstanding customer service and sales support capability, in relation to Microsoft embedded operating systems and retail management systems (RMS)

"I am excited to be promoting Windows Storage Server alongside the existing range of Microsoft products we support, and looking forward to expanding our customer base as we aggressively grow sales among enterprise storage OEMs", added Donaldson.

"The growing ESG team is looking forward to converting the many opportunities now open thanks to enhanced performance and reduced cost operation enabled by Windows Storage Server".

Windows Storage Server is a Network Attached Server operating system that allows original equipment manufacturers to build appliances that provide dedicated file serving capabilities and storage on the network.

A key benefit of this solution is that it does not require client access licences (CALs) and supports heterogeneous file serving, server consolidation, back-up and replication of data, and policy-based management of storage resources.
