PFC supply delivers high currents at low
voltages
A rugged, AC/DC power supply with power factor corrected input suits high current, low voltage applications typical of industrial, utility, microwave and telecomms environments.
Absopulse Electronics' LVS 2U5 is a rugged, AC/DC power supply with power factor corrected (PFC) input developed for high current, low voltage applications typical of industrial, utility, microwave and telecomms environments The LVS 2U5 delivers a fixed voltage of between 3 and 15V DC, with a maximum current of 400A or maximum power of 3000W, (maximum values supported by the design)

AEA Battery Systems has developed a new high-capacity lithium-ion secondary (rechargeable) cell.
A 12V output version would, for instance, provide 3000W at 250A; a 3V version, 1200W at 400A.
Versions rated at the higher end of the power range, such as the 3000W unit, require a 230V AC (180 to 264V AC) input voltage whereas lower power ratings accept universal input voltages of 95 to 264V AC.
The flexible design of the LVS 2U5 allows for quick, cost-efficient configuration to customer specifications prior to delivery.
The power factor is corrected to a minimum of 0.97 at full load for the entire input range in compliance with the EN6100-3-2 directive for low input harmonic distortion.
The LVS 2U5 is filtered to meet EN55022 Class A EMI as a minimum, and, with additional (optional) filtering, will meet Class B.
Features include output ripple/noise of less than 1% peak-to-peak, combined line/load regulation of less than +/-1% from zero load to full load, active inrush current limiting and over-voltage protection.
Minimum efficiency is 80% at full load.
The LVS 2U5 is fan-cooled and rated for full specification for temperatures of 0 to 50C, with extended temperature ranges available.
It is housed in a robust 2U x 19 x 18in rack-mount enclosure weighing 8.85kg.
