The SD138-11-31-211 silicon PIN photodiode sandwich detector from Advanced Photonix features two silicon PIN photodiodes vertically integrated in a hermetic TO-5 package.
Over the past three years ODC has invested significantly in a dedicated Class 1000 clean room with state-of-the-art photolithography and wafer-processing equipment at their Camarillo, California facility and their manufacturing facilities are now second-to-none in the silicon photodiode industry.
Sharratt commented: "ODC are one of the few companies who can use both diffusion and ion-implantation processes on the same wafer".
"This enables them to achieve unique combinations of performance characteristics which I am confident will be of great benefit to our many silicon photodiode customers in the UK and Ireland".
"A prime example is the excellent responsivity at the Nd:YAG wavelength of 1064nm - a figure of 0.4 A/W is twice the industry standard at this wavelength".
ODC offers standard detectors from 1 to 42mm2 with blue/visible and red/NIR spectral enhancements and can also supply bicell, quadrant and linear array configurations with custom photodiode configurations being produced within 4 to 6 weeks of order.
The company also supplies hybrid detector-preamplifier devices.
ODC's investment in automated wafer-testing, die attach, wirebonding and capping for its high volume LED business means it is able to supply high quality hermetic TO-style packaged photodiodes in high volumes with short leadtimes and excellent pricing.
