Real-time kernel is easier to debug
Accelerated Technology has added a Running System Debug (RSD) enhancement supporting the ARM RealView Developer Suite to the Nucleus Plus real-time kernel.
The Nucleus RTOS provides a scalable and robust platform that meets the high processing needs of all types of today's embedded systems, and has been widely used in many embedded applications.
In addition to the widely used Nucleus Plus real-time kernel, developers implementing the micro-Itron standard can utilise the Nucleus micro-iPlus kernel as well.
A complete integrated development environment (IDE), debugging environment and the Renesas SuperH RISC Engine C/C++ compiler round out the offering.
All of these components are tightly integrated so the developer can build the application from design to deployment quickly and easily.
"With RTOS support from Accelerated Technology, engineers using our SH7780 processor will have access to an integrated development environment designed to simplify design cycles and facilitate the development of high-performance multimedia applications such as car navigation systems, game machine and digital home electronics", said Peter Carbone, Director of Marketing, System LSI Business Unit at Renesas Technology America.
"The Nucleus RTOS has had a very successful deployment history on Renesas devices", said Robert Day, Director of Marketing, Accelerated Technology, a Mentor Graphics Division.
"Our support for these new processors will expand our mutual success and allow new embedded designs to take advantage of the robust, reliable and royalty-free Nucleus product line".
The Nucleus embedded software is sold in source code format and without royalty fees.
Licences for the Nucleus software begin at US $12,495 per seat.
