Pan-European deal boosts wireless
linecard
Acal Technology will support customers throughout Europe with design-in and concept-enabling using RFMD's complete product portfolio.
Acal Technology has been named by RFMD as its exclusive pan-European distribution partner in 13 European countries following RFMD's acquisition of Sirenza Microdevices/PDI/Microlinear The agreement covers the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland

RFMD's rationalisation of Sirenza's distribution network means that Acal Technology will support customers throughout Europe with design-in and concept-enabling using RFMD's complete product portfolio.
This includes RFMD's power amplifiers and wireless solutions for infrastructure and wireless local area networks (WLAN) as well as Sirenza/PDI's transceivers, signal source, signal processing and other RF components for multimarket applications.
Martin Kemp, European Product Manager, Acal RF and Wireless explains: "This agreement adds more than 75 new products to Acal's wireless linecard, including the world's leading power amplifiers in wireless LAN, WiMAX and new technology areas such as GaN.
RFMDs multimarket product group will allow Acal to further penetrate the broadband, consumer, CATV, aerospace and defence, test and instrumentation and wireless infrastructure markets".
