Ceramic resonators are cheaper than crystals
Now available in a surface-mount ceramic design, a new space saving range of ceramic resonators from Advanced Crystal Technology offers a low-cost alternative to surface-mount crystals.
The ACT711S has stability to 20ppm and a low frequency temperature coefficient of (-3.5 +/-1.0) x 1.0-8/degC2, which create a stable reference throughout a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85C.
Reduced cost, size and weight, combined with high stability and environmental performance make the ACT711S the perfect choice for timing and processing applications including portable equipment for industrial and consumer markets.
Measuring just 7.0 x 1.5 x 1.4 mm, its low height and width are especially attractive for use in personal equipment such as watches, cellular phones and other timing or portable equipment.
Aging is 3ppm maximum at 25C (+/-3C) and is offered in two load capacitances - 7.0 and 12.5pF - with an ESR of 65kohm.
The ACT711S is suitable for automatic placement from tape and reel, and can be quickly integrated into high volume SMT processes.
