Adlink's latest 6U 64bit/66MHz CompactPCI system module is the cPCI-6830, a dual Intel Tualatin processor system module with PICMG 2.16 compliance.

The cPCI-6830 supports the Intel Pentium III Tualatin processor which can clock speeds of up to 1.4GHz, ideal for applications that require extreme computing power and can support a host memory of 3Gbyte DDR SDRAM DIMM with ECC capability.

With three on-board 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet ports, supported by the Intel 82559 controller and the VT8233 built-in controller, it provides the cPCI-6830 with the ultimate network throughput and scalability.

The cPCI-6830 also supports four bus-master PCI devices on its 64bit/66MHz CompactPCI bus peripheral slots and is equipped with dual USB ports, dual serial ports, and one parallel port, providing convenience for connecting up several external peripherals.

In addition to the many available I/O connection that already exist, further I/O capability of the cPCI-6830 can be expanded with the addition of the cPCI-R6830 rear transition module (RTM).

The cPCI-R6830 adds 2.5in ATA HDD housing on the RTM providing an all-in-one computing blade solution within only a two-slot space.

It also provides optional AC-97 audio phone-jack interface and optional VGA daughter card with resolution up to 1600 x 1200 in 32bit true colour for high-performance multimedia applications.

The removable design of the VGA card also provides the flexibility for embedded applications such as firewall and VPN.

In addition to its compliance with PICMG 2.0 CompactPCI R3.0 and PICMG 2.1 hot swap R2.0 specification, the cPCI-6830 also complies with PICMG 2.16 packet switching backplane specifications for high-end media gateways, signalling gateways, streaming servers, network security gateways, voice portals, soft-switch and other NGN equipment applications.

The cPCI-6830 has been thoroughly tested and is completely compatible with NMS CG/AG/TX series CompactPCI boards with Windows2000/NT and Intel Solaris operating systems certification.

As the cPCI-6830 is PICMG 2.16 compliant, it is also compatible with leading PICMG 2.16 products from Performance Technology.
