The cPCI-6840 is a 6U CompactPCI CPU optimised for the Intel Pentium M processor with the Intel 855GME chipset and the multifunction Intel 6300ESB I/O controller hub.

Intel's high-performance integrated graphics, triple Gigabit Ethernet ports and PMC optional Ultra-320 SCSI interface are combined to provide the finest balance between computing and graphical performance available today.

As a 32/64bit, 33/66MHz CompactPCI universal blade, the cPCI-6840 supports PICMG 2.1 hot swap specification, PICMG 2.16 Packet-Switched Backplane compliance, PICMG 2.3 PMC on Compact PCI, and PICMG 2.9 System Management bus for high-end computing servers, multimedia integration, and telecommunication applications.

Furthermore, it supports DVI, LVDS, CRT displays, PCI -X, Serial ATA HDD, and ECC DDR-SDRAM (up to 2Gbyte).

The cPCI-6840 will be available in Q1 2004.
