Adlink Technology has a new series of advanced telecomms platform building blocks, comprising the cPCI-6840, the ATCA-3100/3120 PICMG 3.1 switch and the the ATCA-6890.

The cPCI-6840 is an Intel Pentium M processor-based single board computer.

It features Intel Pentium M processors running up to 1.8GHz, 533MHz FSB and 2Mbyte of L2 cache.

The ATCA-6890 is an Intel processor-based high-performance single board computer.

In addition Adlink is announcing early availability for Intel network processor-based AMC modules, ATCA AMC carrier boards and a 10U ATCA chassis.

Adlink's ATCA building blocks are ground breaking products based on the PICMG 3.X spec targeted for telecommunication equipment manufacturers.

Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) platforms are ideally suited for applications that take full advantage of IP data protocols and topologies.

These applications include wireless access devices, video over IP as well as high-end firewall and security applications.

These new offerings from Adlink complement the Intel processor-based modular solutions Adlink currently offers, such as the cPCI-6240, an Intel IXP2400 network processor-based single board computer that is targeted for computing intensive, wire line speeds communications applications.

The ATCA-3100/3120 is an AdvancedTCA hub switch board that combines base interface with PICMG 3.1 fabric interface for ATCA shelves up to 14 slots (2 hub slots and 12 node slots).

The base interface provides 1000Base-T Ethernet connections between the fabric slot and the node slots.

A 1000Base-T uplink connection is provided on the front panel for easy access to the base interface.

The fabric interface provides PICMG 3.1 compliant 1000Base-X Gigabit Ethernet between the fabric slot and the node slots on each fabric slot.

Alternatively, the fabric switch can support dual redundant 10Gbit external uplink ports.

Adlink plays a vital role in the development of the ATCA family of specifications and has been an active participant since its inception.

"As a member of the Intel Communication Alliance, Adlink gains early access to advanced Intel technologies that enable Adlink bring to market advanced products supporting the latest open standards architectures", said Jeff Munch, Adlink Chief Technology Officer.

"Our extensive work with the blade server platform led to the creation of the 10U ATCA shelf, providing the highest density of ATCA boards in a 42U rack".

"With Adlink products, customers can always expect cutting-edge technology today".

"By offering standards-based modular communications platform building blocks based on Intel processors, Adlink demonstrates their commitment to offering their customers products that will help them to speed their development times and achieve faster time to market", said Anthony Ambrose, General Manager of Intel Communications Group Marketing Programs and Platforms.

"Adlink contributes to the robust ecosystem of open-standards based building blocks with their Advanced Mezzanine Card based on Intel network processors, enabling high scalability on AdvancedTCA platforms".
