The PXI-7900 Series of switch modules are the first PXI form factor switching products from Adlink Technology.

The PXI-7900 Series of switch modules are the first PXI form factor switching products from Adlink Technology.

The PXI-7900 Series includes the PXI-7901 16-CH general-purpose SPDT relay module, the PXI-7921 24-CH two-wire multiplexer module and the PXI-7931 4x8 two-wire matrix module.

To meet the needs of a wide range of uses in the measurement and automation field, the PXI-7900 Series of switch modules includes three different functional topologies for application in all types of automated measurement systems.

PXI-7900 Series switch modules are PXI Rev 2.1 and PICMG 2.1 R2.0 CompactPCI hot-swap compliant and can be used in either PXI or CompactPCI systems.

The PXI-7900 Series provides direct-update and auto-scan operation modes to accommodate different application requirements.

Auto-scan mode implements an onboard 1024-sample scan list for deterministic scanning and handshaking for synchronisation with external instruments.

For safety-critical applications, the emergency shutdown function allows users to manually set the relay pattern to a preset state.

PXI trigger functions are supported and software programmable in all switch modules.

Multiple modules can therefore be synchronised without additional field wiring.

PXI-7901 is a general-purpose (GP) switch module employs 16-CH independent single-pole double-throw (SPDT) relays (1 Form C) with a switching capacity of up to 3A switching/carry and 220V DC/250V AC.

The eight auxiliary digital I/O lines provide versatility to users' control applications.

The PXI-7901 can be used for signal switching and routing in measurement systems or ATE to control operation of devices such as motors, fans, heaters and lights.

The PXI-7921 is a relay multiplexer which consists of 24 two-wire relays (DPDT, 2 Form C) and switching capacity of up to 2A switching/carry and 220V DC/125V AC.

As a multiplexer, the PXI-7921 provides 48x1 single-wire, 24x1 two-wire and 12x1 four-wire configurations and is software selectable.

The PXI-7921 typically connects one instrument, such as a DMM, a digitiser or a signal source, to many sites that need measurement or stimulus.

The PXI-7931 is a matrix module with 32 crosspoint two-wire relays (DPDT, 2 Form C) and switching capacity of up to 2A switching/carry and 220V DC/125V AC.

The default configuration is a four-group 2x4 two-wire matrix.

Using a termination board, users can choose between multiple configurations (one 4x8, two 4x4, one 2x16, two 2x8 or four 2x4) and easily change the internal connection paths.

The PXI-7900 Series of switch modules is available from stock.

List prices are: PXI-7901, US $750; PXI-7921, US $850; and PXI-7931, US $850.

All Adlink Technology PXI products come with a two-year warranty.
