The ATCA-6890 processor blade is a new AdvancedTCA building block claimed to offer new levels of performance to the telecomms and networking communication market segments The ATCA-6890 is available in a dual-processor configuration with the low voltage Intel Xeon processor 2.8GHz with 800MHz system bus, or a single-processor configuration with the Intel Xeon processor 3.2GHz with 800MHz system bus

The ATCA-6890 also features the Intel E7520 chipset and supports up to 16Gbyte DDR2-400 memory.

The processor blade is intended for use in AdvancedTCA-compliant platforms.

Peripherals include six Gigabit Ethernet ports, one 10/100/1000Mbit Ethernet maintenance port, four USB 2.0 ports, two PMC sites, video (analogue and flat panel), two parallel ATA ports, two Serial ATA ports, and two serial ports.

Keyboard, mouse and printer functions are supported with USB, and a legacy PS/2 type connector is reserved on the rear transition module (RTM).

"Adlink is at the forefront in offering a rich portfolio of ATCA building blocks", said Jeff Munch, Adlink's CTO.

"Since the beginning of the ATCA initiative, Adlink has been a key player, contributor and promoter".

"With the announcement of the ATCA-6890 we now have all the pieces an OEM needs to bring innovative solutions to the marketplace".

"AdvancedTCA with Intel architecture processors is the platform of choice for telecom equipment manufacturers looking to quickly deliver new services for next generation networks", said Anthony Ambrose, General Manager, Modular Platform Programs, Intel Communications Infrastructure Group.

"With the new low voltage Intel Xeon processor built on the AdvancedTCA framework, equipment manufacturers are able to effectively meet customer demand with faster time to market".

Adlink's ATCA building blocks feature the latest Intel Xeon processor offerings and are based on the PICMG 3.0 specification, which is targeted for telecommunication equipment manufacturers. Request a free brochure from Adlink Technology ...
