New from Adlink is the ETX-IV266 computer on module (COM) based on the ETX form factor (95 x 144mm).

ETX COMs offer a very short time-to-market solution for OEM customers.

The ETX modular concept of off-the-shelf core modules combined with custom made carrier boards reduces product development time from the normal six months for a full custom solution to just six weeks for an ETX based solution.

The ETX form factor is competitively priced for OEM projects with quantities from 500 to 50,000 pieces.

Target markets for the ETX-IV266 are medical automation, instrumentation, gaming, POS, mobile computing and transportation.

The ETX-IV266 supports the ULV Mobile Intel Celeron CPU at 400/650MHz or LV Mobile Intel Pentium III-M at 800/933MHz in a uFCBGA package (soldered on the board).

The ETX-IV266 is the only module on the market today in the low to medium range performance class that supports DDR based SODIMMs.

The onboard 200-pin SODIMM socket supports high speed DDR266 type SODIMM memory modules and can accommodate up to 1Gbyte.

The ETX-IV266 features Via's popular CLE266 chipset, which incorporates an AGP 8X VGA controller with hardware MPEG-2 decoding, support for LVDS based flat panel displays and TV-out for Pal/NTSC, four USB v2.0 ports, a 10/100Base-T Ethernet port, an EIDE controller supporting both PIO and UDMA modes, two serial ports, one parallel port (SPP/ECP/EPP) shared with FDD, one PS2 keyboard/mouse interface, an AC97 audio interface with codec and power management functionality.

The ETX-IV266 includes standard support for embedded features such as RS232 console redirection, watchdog timer, CMOS EEPROM backup of BIOS settings for batteryless operation, USB boot/legacy and PXE.

The board has been designed from the ground up to minimise power usage and heat dissipation allowing fanless operation when using ULV Celeron type processors.

Production quantities of the ETX-IV266 are now available for shipping.

Adlink's ETX product family currently includes ETX modules based on low power Via Eden ESP CPU, Mobile Intel Celeron and Intel Pentium M processors.

For core module evaluation a prototype board with ATX form factor is available.

All modules are supported by BSPs for Microsoft Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE.NET, Linux and VxWorks.

Embedded Linux Development Kits for ETX-IV266 A dedicated Embedded Linux Development Kit is available for ETX-IV266.

The software and hardware tools included in the Embedded Linux Development Kit allow a developer to set up a host-target based development system in just minutes without any peripherals or system setup on the target side.

The connection to the host computer is a legacy-free USB for use with any desktop PC or notebook.
