CompactPCI board squeezes in more I/Os
With 128 channels each of input and output, the cPCI-7452 is designed for applications which need a large number of I/O controls within a certain spatial constraint.
Adlink Technology has released its highest density isolated digital input and output (DIO) module for CompactPCI and PXI platforms With 128 channels each of input and output, the cPCI-7452 is designed for applications which need a large number of I/O controls within a certain spatial constraint, such as compact machine controllers and large-scale test and measurement systems

Analogue boards mount PCI and PXI
The DAQ-2500 and PXI-2500 series are four- or eight-channel 12bit high-performance analogue output cards for the PCI and PXI buses.
High-bandwidth PGA boosts acquisition performance
The latest data-acquisition card from Adlink features a novel programmable gain amplifier to overcome the traditional problems of acquiring signals faster than 500kHz.
The cPCI-7452 has useful features for controlling large number of I/O controls.
One such feature is the change-of-state (COS) detection functionality to improve application program efficiency and reduce CPU processing time.
Previously, scanning a large number of digital inputs takes multiple software I/O accesses and consumes CPU resources.
The hardware COS function improves this situation.
When any state changes, users will receive an interrupt event and take necessary actions.
Thus, the application program does not have to continuously check inputs for changes, resulting in better CPU utilisation.
Moreover, the cPCI-7452 uses open-collector Darlington circuit in each of the 128 digital output channels.
The output driver can handle up to 500mA of current in some circumstances and is suitable for applications such as external relay control and on/off switches.
To prevent damage to the system from occasional surge voltage or current, all input and output channels are optically isolated with up to 2500V RMS isolation voltage, resulting in a more reliable system.
ADLINK's cPCI-7452 fully complies with PICMG 2.0 R3.0 specifications.
It can be used in both CompactPCI and PXI 6U chassis.
The cPCI-7452 supports both Windows and Linux operating systems.
With bundled software drivers, users could develop applications in various development environments, such as VC, VB, BCB, Delphi, LabView and Matlab.
The cPCI-7452 is offered at price of $1200 and available from April 2006. Request a free brochure from Adlink Technology ...
