Expansion system aids PCIbus acquisition
growth
A novel four-slot PCI-to-PCI extension system makes it easy to add four additional 5V PCI slots to a computer via a cable connection.
A novel four-slot PCI-to-PCI extension system from Adlink Technology makes it easy to add four additional 5V PCI slots to a computer via a cable connection PCI I/O cards, data acquisition cards, image capture cards, or motion control cards can be located in the extension chassis up to 10m away from the host computer

Analogue boards mount PCI and PXI
The DAQ-2500 and PXI-2500 series are four- or eight-channel 12bit high-performance analogue output cards for the PCI and PXI buses.
High-bandwidth PGA boosts acquisition performance
The latest data-acquisition card from Adlink features a novel programmable gain amplifier to overcome the traditional problems of acquiring signals faster than 500kHz.
The PCIS-8580-4S is designed for users who need extra 5V PCI slots and need to use I/O devices in a hazardous environment, away from the host computer.
The PCIS-8580-4S uses the state-of-art "serialised bridge" technology to extend the PCIbus.
PCIbus signals are serialised and transmit in four pairs of 622Mbit/s LVDS signals to provide a full 132Mbyte/s PCI bandwidth.
Automatic error detection and error correction are performed during the transmission to preserve data integrity.
This new technology in PCIS-8580-4S also offers a maximum of 10m of extension distance through a robust cable connection for keeping the host computer in a safe environment.
The most important consideration is that the PCIS-8580-4S uses standard PCI bridges and is transparent to the computer system, and so all applications and drivers can easily migrate to the PCI-to-PCI extension system without any modification.
Adlink's PCIS-8580-4S PCI-to-PCI extension system provides the flexibility for constructing a more robust system.
For example, users have the option of having additional PCI slots outside a panel PC or to put all the I/O cards in a movable platform away from the host computer.
The PCIS-8580-4S allows users to set up PCI-based measurement and automation systems that cross physical boundaries.
The PCIS-8580-4S is offered at a price of $1200 and is available from stock. Request a free brochure from Adlink Technology ...
