Geode module upgrades compliance and
performance

An RoHS compliant AMD Geode GX2 ETX module drops in to replace legacy noncompliant GX1 designs.

Available now from Adlink Technology, the ETX-GX2 computer on module is based on the ETX form factor with AMD Geode GX533 and GX466 processors The ETX COM form factor (95 x 144mm), offers a very short time to market solution for OEMs

The ETX form factor is competitively priced for OEM projects with quantities from 500 to 50,000 pieces.

The ETX-GX2 core consists of an AMD Geode GX533 or GX466 processor with an AMD Geode CS5535 companion device.

The Geode GX533 consumes a mere 1.1W and the Geode GX466 uses even less power at 0.9W.

The module supports both DDR based SODIMMs and soldered memory.

This ensures long-term availability and stable pricing for the SODIMM part in projects that have a long production life, when compared with SDRAM based SODIMMs.

Memory, either 128 or 256Mbyte, can be soldered onboard and/or can be inserted in the onboard 200-pin SODIMM socket, that accepts up to 512Mbyte DDR SODIMMs.

The module incorporates a VGA controller, an EIDE controller supporting both PIO and UDMA modes, four USB ports, two serial ports, one parallel port (SPP/ECP/EPP) shared with FDD, one PS2 keyboard/mouse interface, AC97 audio interface and power management functionality.

Also onboard are an Intel based 10/100Base-T Ethernet port, watchdog timer, an AC97 audio codec and support for CRT and LVDS based displays.

The ETX-GX2 fully supports PCI and ISA buses and embedded features such as RS232 console redirection and CMOS EEPROM backup for BIOS settings and batteryless operation.

The ETX-GX2 is a revision controlled product aimed at applications that require a guaranteed long production life support. Request a free brochure from Adlink Technology ...
