The latest data-acquisition card from Adlink features a novel programmable gain amplifier to overcome the traditional problems of acquiring signals faster than 500kHz.
Robustly built, the PCI extension system delivers a highly-reliable PCI extension system especially for applications requiring high-capability of numerous PCI slots in a single computer system.
The PCIS-8580-13S is connected to the host computer via the Adlink LPCI-8575 PCI-to-PCI extension card.
Using the state-of-art "serialised bridge" technology, the PCIS-8580-13S is capable of extending the PCI bus through parallel PCI signal transmission in four-pair, 622 Mbit/s serialised LVDS signals.
The PCIS-8580-13S also performs automatic error detection and correction during transmission to guarantee data integrity.
Supporting standard PCI bridge functionality, PCI cards installed in the PCIS-8580-13S system exhibit software and hardware transparency as they are conveniently detected, accessed, and programmed from the host computer.
With the latest backplane and chassis design, the PCIS-8580-13S efficiently accommodates more PCI cards, making it suitable for continuously expanding applications such as testing cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) for LCD TVs.
As LCD TVs get larger in size, CCFL tests require more test modules in a single system.
Compared with traditional 19in IPCs with limited PCI slot support, the PCI-8580-13S system offers high-performance scalability to support more than 20 PCI modules in a single computer system.
The PCIS-8580-13S comes in a 19in rack-mountable chassis.
It is equipped with a 400W power supply, two 120mm fans for thermal management, and a pre-installed Adlink LPCI-8575 PCI-to-PCI extension card.
For the host computer, another LPCI-8575 card will be installed inside.
The package includes a 2m extension cable for connecting the host computer and extension chassis.
