Fanless x86 SBC design supports SATA

Geode LX 800 processor based SBC is a cost-effective and low-power design engineered to operate at less than 20W under full loading.

New from Adlink Technology, the NuPRO-720 is a full-size PICMG 1.0 single board computer based on the AMD Geode LX 800 processor Billed as a new class of fanless x86 SBC supporting SATA, the NuPRO-720is specifically designed for industrial automation, system integrators and intelligent transportation systems

The NuPRO-720 also provides integrated VGA functionality, four USB ports, and an onboard CompactFlash socket.

Based on the AMD Geode LX 800 processor, the NuPRO-720 is designed to be a cost-effective and low-power solution engineered to operate at less than 20W under full loading.

This extremely energy efficient configuration allows the NuPRO-720 to operate at a lower heat profile than comparable SBCs running Celeron and Pentium class processors.

Combined with a fanless heatsink, the NuPRO-720 can operate using a 150W power supply in an eight-slot wall-mount chassis, thus reducing overall power consumption in both factory and stand-alone applications.

The NuPRO-720 also offers a wide range of I/O ports for data processing and storage and is one of the first in this class of SBCs to offer two onboard SATA ports as well as a CompactFlash slot for greater flexibility in application design.

The NuPRO-720 also offers multiple I/O and connectivity options by providing four USB 2.0 ports, two 10/100Base-T Ethernet ports, two serial ports, and one parallel port.

"When developing this product, our main goal was to create an SBC solution with efficient performance to handle the rigors of factory automation, yet be cool enough to be squeezed into intelligent transportation systems (ITS) without overheating; all bundled at a competitive price point", says Jeffery Shiue, Director of the Industrial Computing Product Segment at Adlink.
