Device programming systems take centre
stage
Adaptsys will demonstrate the latest innovations in ISP technology at the UK Embedded Systems Show.
Adaptsys will be demonstrating the latest innovations in ISP (in-system programming) technology on Stand 407 at the Embedded Systems Show (19th and 20th October 2005, UK NEC, Birmingham) On display for the first time in the UK will be BP Microsystems' Model 1710 device programming system, complete with a specially designed ISP module, as well as other device programming and duplicating solutions

Component taping system has universal appeal
An automatic component taping system is claimed to offer users outstanding flexibility and exceptional reliability.
The Model 1710 universal engineering programmer combines ultrafast programming technology with BP Microsystems' latest FX4 socket modules, and support for over 22,000 devices including very low voltage devices down to 1.5V.
By taking advantage of proven seventh-generation technology, the hardware allows for programming devices with densities up to 4Gbit.
In addition, the industry's widely accepted high-speed USB 2.0 standard bus for communications has been incorporated into this version.

The popular V-Tek TM-4450 is now available with support for taping of small devices including SOT23, 0805 and 0603 packages.
Taping machines get to grips with coplanarity
Adaptsys can now offer true 3D optical coplanarity inspection for V-Tek taping machines.
The ISP module on show provides the ability to program devices using the programmer after they have been placed "onboard" or "in-circuit" as an alternative to traditional offline programming.
The module hardware allows the programmer to be connected to any pre-assembled circuit board via a cable interface and in use is supported by specially designed BPWin or BP-DOS software.
In practice, a custom algorithm is also provided to ensure that the correct programming signals are delivered to the appropriate pins on the board Also on show will be BP's Model 2710 concurrent programming system which combines the industry's fastest programming technology (0.24s/Mbit), FX4 socket modules and BP's concurrent programming system.
This powerful combination results in higher programming throughput, reduced cost per device and faster turnarounds.
The hardware allows for programming devices with densities up to 4Gbit, and in addition incorporates a high-speed USB 2.0 interface for communications.
Both BP programming solution will be complemented at ESS2005 by the M6500 Flash memory card duplicator.
This fast stand-alone unit features eight duplication slots and one master card slot using low cost PCMCIA memory card adapters.
Fast duplication is performed in parallel on all eight copy slots.
A binary image copying process allows the copy to be independent of the operating system and an "Auto-ATA" function performs automatic sizing and size checking of the master and copy cards.
Optional Windows compatible software is available for control of the unit using a standard PC based RS232C port.
