A complete solution to software and hardware development for the Sharp Microelectronics BlueStreak ARM family is now available with the Zoom software development kit.

A complete solution to software and hardware development for the Sharp Microelectronics BlueStreak ARM family is now available with the Zoom software development kit (SDK) from Hero Electronics Three separate SDKs cover the whole ARM family of ARM7TDM-S, ARM720T and ARM922T, all with integral LCD controllers for monochrome, colour-STN, TFT and advanced-TFT displays

Each Zoom SDK has a Gnu C compiler tool chain to speed up the development process "out-of-the-box", and comes complete with cables and power supply.

The heart of the SDK is the Card Engine daughterboard containing the ARM processor, Flash memory, SRAM and Ethernet; which can then be re-used in the final target hardware for prototypes or final production.

Examples of software source codes are available; together with a powerful boot-loader and monitor programme with simple serial port debug commands.

More complex debugging is enabled using the JTAG or integral Ethernet port.

Board support packages (BSPs) are available for Linux and WinCE.NET depending on the CPU MMU support.

A variety of LCD displays of varying manufacture can be plugged directly to each SDK, depending on the CPU type.

In addition there is a range of Zoom display kits which come complete with the choice of Sharp TFTs from 3.5 to 12.1in, including a four-wire resistive touch-screen and bezel and necessary cables and backlight.
