IPC qualifications provide an industry-recognised assurance of quality, requiring operators and trainers to demonstrate the competence, skills and expertise to build products which comply with international IPC standards.

The latest revision of the standards also includes lead-free soldering requirements.

Wood attended three IPC training courses, covering cable and wire harnesses as well as assemblies, and became a Certified Trainer for the following IPC standards: IPC-A-620 (Requirements and acceptance for cable and wire harness assemblies), IPC-J-STD-001D (Requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies) and IPC-A-610D (Acceptability of electronic assemblies).

Thales Land and Joint joined a long list of other Thales companies who have attended IPC training courses at ART.

These companies include Thales Acoustics, Thales Underwater, Thales Aerospace, Thales Avionics, Thales Communications, Thales Land and Joint, Thales Lockheed Martin, Thales Defence and Thales Optronics.
