Now stocked by Aerco are the 236 and 256 series of PCB-mount terminal blocks from Wago that use the highly innovative cage clamp spring pressure connection system.

This method is suitable for solid, stranded, flexible, tip bonded, ferruled or crimped conductors and ensures a quick, gas tight, vibration proof and maintenance free connection every time, regardless of the skill of the operator.

Both the 236 and 256 series are supplied in sizes from 0.08 to 2.5mm2 in 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4in pitches and the 236 series has either one or two pins per pole whereas the 256 series is only available with two pins per pole.

The two-pin version gives greater rigidity to the terminal block whereas the single pin simplifies the production process.

Modular in construction and competitively priced, the terminal blocks are supplied from two to 24 poles as standard and can be built into any required pole length incorporating any of the six available colours.

Marking is possible with either self-adhesive markers or direct printing.

With the 256 series, each terminal has a test point for insertion of a test probe even when the conductors are connected.

On the 236 series, the cage clamp is operated by a standard screwdriver while the 256 has an operating lever incorporated into the clamping mechanism.

The conductors enter the terminal at an angle of approximately 45 degrees, so space can be saved on the PCB by mounting the terminals very close together.

The terminals have a current rating of 16A making them suitable for many industrial, commercial and domestic applications including the expanding gaming machine market.
