Under the terms of a new trading agreement, Aerco is now holding extensive stocks of the popular Polamco 91 Series of EMC backshells The key feature of the 91 Series is a specially designed, self-tensioning spring that is easily installed on to the backshell providing cost effective and reliable, full 360-degree screen termination

The electrical and mechanical characteristics of this constant force spring, which can be used in corrosive atmospheres, are unaffected by vibration and shock and the operating temperature is between -65 and +150C.

Comprehensive, independent witnessed test reports covering thermal cycling to MIL-STD-202E Method 107G, vibration testing to MIL-STD-176-1 and shock testing to MIL-STD-1344A Condition G are available.

Simple to install without any special tools and easy to rework, the constant-force spring can be used in conjunction with backshells and braid tails without the use of swaging equipment.

A particularly useful feature is that the spring may be reopened and re-used in the field to allow for repair or service of the connector without scrapping any part of the shielding system.

Aerco is the main UK stockist for Polamco backshells for D38999 and ABB 5015 bayonet connectors and holds stock for these and Pat 105 (PT) and Pat 602 connectors.

All popular shell sizes are covered in both straight and angled forms.

The Polamco 91 Series has been used worldwide by many leading companies for applications ranging from engine systems, frigates, missile launchers, tanks, armoured vehicles and communication systems.
