Snap-action switch springs into
operation
Schaltbau snap-action switches are characterised by precise, repeatable switching with a minimum life of 10 million mechanical operating cycles.
Now available in the UK from Aerco is the Schaltbau S880, a new snap-action switch in the V4 package size Schaltbau snap-action switches are characterised by precise, repeatable switching with a minimum life of 10 million mechanical operating cycles

The S880 range uses the well-proven, self-wiping and self-cleaning silver and gold plated contacts and operating mechanism used in all Schaltbau switches.
The system forces the normally closed contacts to open at any event and the indirect switching operation is triggered by the spring-loaded snap-action mechanism of the switch.
Because the switching speed is virtually independent of the speed of actuation, the S880 is especially suited for use with slow-moving actuators.
The positive opening mechanism guarantees a fail-safe operation and, as is crucial with safety switches, the risk of contact welding or spring failure is minimised making the S880 ideal for applications up to 6A in industries such as telecommunications, engineering and automation.
S880 switches use the familiar Schaltbau green transparent housing enclosure that enables the contact condition to be identifiable at all times and are designed in accordance with international standards IEC60947-5-1 including annex K, UL and CCC.
Available with various terminal styles such as flat tabs, leads, solder or PCB terminals, the switch is operated by a standard pushbutton and leaf levers of various lengths are available as auxiliary actuators.
The switches are now available from Aerco with no minimum order quantities.
