Antenna developers Antenova and Galtronics have signed a memorandum of understanding to speed up the entrance of High Dielectric Antenna technology into the handset and laptop/apter market.

Antenna developers Antenova and Galtronics have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to speed up the entrance of Antenova's High Dielectric Antenna (HDA) technology into the handset and laptop/adapter market Under the terms of the MoU, Galtronics - a market leader in antenna design and manufacturing - will gain access to Antenova's advanced integral antenna solutions and in turn, Antenova will be able to use Galtronics' established channels to market and manufacturing capabilities

Galtronics, an experienced supplier to tier-one customers in the wireless communications industry, will provide Antenova with a global infrastructure and market reach.

The combination is expected to considerably shorten time to market for introducing small and highly efficient antennas to the cellular and WLAN market.

The first joint project is a quad-band 800/900/1800/1900MHz platform antenna for the Asian, American and European market that can be tailored to many handsets/PDAs.

The antenna will be manufactured in Asia and has already been tested to show significant performance advantages over other available antennas on the market.

This high performance quad-band antenna will be commercially available by the end of 2003.

"We were very excited when Galtronics, who is an approved supplier to many OEMs and a market leader in wireless telecommunication equipment antennas selected us as their preferred partner.

This first joint project will accelerate our unique and innovative technology into the 500 million units per year mobile handset market.

This is the first major partnership on our road towards full commercialisation of the technology", says Greg McCray, Antenova's CEO.

"We have identified a number of potential partners, but have selected Antenova because of their high performance antenna solutions and the exciting applications enabled by their technology.

We believe that our global relationships and our world-class manufacturing capabilities will be well complemented by this new partnership and help us continue to grow our market share and leadership in this market", says Kenneth Crowell, President/CEO of Galtronics.
