Diversity antenna promises to boost 3G datarates
A ground-breaking antenna from Antenova is providing the missing link in the struggle to provide data transfer speeds that really deliver on the promise of 3G.
Antenova further announced plans for an RandD centre in the Chicago area in the first quarter of 2007.
"The addition of this highly experienced RF design team enables Antenova to accelerate the development of our full range of Radionova integrated radio antenna modules for mobile devices and underpins our strategy for moving up the RF component value chain, stated Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova.
"Our OEM and ODM customers have been very interested in our progress, and have been providing input and direction into our development program".
"Having this RF expertise in-house allows us to move forward and complete the RF integration (eg, front end module, power amplifier, transceiver, etc) with the antenna and get Radionova modules into the market more quickly".
"This is a major advance for Antenova as it aggressively expands from delivering embedded antennas to providing integrated radio antenna modules for the mobile device markets".
"Antenova's Radionova product line not only includes a stable, high performing, multiband platform antenna, but also the radio components optimised and integrated into a single package that lowers the overall OEM development costs while improving radio and antenna performance with lower power consumption".
"We have spent a lot of time looking all over the world for an experienced team of RF designers to complement our leading antenna design teams".
"We are very impressed with the capabilities of these engineers and scientists, and particularly their insight into optimising RF circuits with antennas," said Simon Kingsley, Chief Scientist of Antenova.
McCray added, "We are also establishing a full Design and Support centre in the Chicago area to house the new team and grow our operations in the US The new design and support centre will complement our North American sales organisation already established in California and Texas".
