DSP seminars cover North America and Europe

An Altera Europe product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jun 8, 2005

Altera's Code:DSP video, image, and signal processing seminars will take place this June in five cities in North America and Europe.

According to Altera, system designers seeking cost-effective performance-driven DSP solutions won't want to miss its Code:DSP video, image, and signal processing seminars taking place this June in five cities in North America and Europe.

The seminars bring together leading companies from Altera's DSP ecosystem to demonstrate a range of products optimised for Altera's latest FPGA device families.

Delegates will learn about: design flows including Matlab/Simulink and C language EDA tools; compression solutions such as JPEG2000, MPEG4, H.264 and Windows Media 9; video I/O implementations including ASI, HD/SD-SDI and video-over-IP; lowering costs using CycloneTM II FPGAs and HardCopy II structured ASICs; and architecting systems with digital signal processors and FPGA coprocessors.

Event sponsors include Texas Instruments, The MathWorks, Mentor Graphics, Synplicity, Celoxica and Barco.

Other companies participating include Aldec, Astec, Ateme, D3 Engineering, Inlet, Intrinsix, Gidel, GDA Technologies, MangoDSP, Silicon Spectrum and Vanteon.

Industry experts from Altera's DSP partners will discuss emerging technologies and give presentations at the seminar designed to update and educate engineers, system architects, and project managers on video, image, and signal processing solutions.

"The partnership between Altera and The MathWorks provides DSP system designers the ability to address the next-generation of high-performance DSP applications", said Ken Karnofsky, DSP and Communications Marketing Director for The MathWorks.

"By using the The MathWorks' Simulink and Altera's DSP Builder and SOPC Builder tools, engineers can quickly develop systems for video and image processing and high-speed digital communications in a powerful design environment".

"Altera's ecosystem, which includes industry leaders in the DSP world, represents the leading edge in DSP system design", added Brian Jentz, Altera's DSP Marketing Manager.

"From algorithm design and simulation to video encoding, the ecosystem provides designers with all the tools they need to take advantage of the DSP capabilities of Altera's industry-leading FPGAs".

Details of venues, dates and how to register can be found on the Altera website.
