Altera's low-cost Cyclone II FPGA family is now available in extended temperature range The extended temperature range allows Cyclone II FPGAs to operate at a junction temperature of -40 to +125C to provide increased flexibility, time to market and low-cost advantages for designers of industrial, military and automotive electronics systems

"The availability of our Cyclone II FPGAs in extended temperature range delivers the advantages of Altera's flagship low-cost device family to engineers building temperature-sensitive applications", said Luanne Schirrmeister, Altera's Marketing Director of Low-Cost Products.

"Our complete portfolio of extended temperature products spans the breadth of density requirements from low-cost CPLDs to high-density FPGAs, making Altera the obvious choice for designers needing a complete solution for their temperature sensitive applications".

Additionally, the combination of Cyclone II extended temperature devices and the industry-leading Nios II processor offers an ideal embedded solution for applications with stringent temperature requirements.

For example, automotive applications such as entertainment systems, navigation systems and telematics controllers can be implemented in a Cyclone II device using a Nios II processor.

Cyclone II devices supporting extended temperature range are available today for immediate shipment from distributors worldwide.

Also available in extended temperature range are the MAX CPLD series, the HardCopy structured ASIC family and the Stratix FPGA family.
