All change in the Altera boardroom
A former Executive Vice President of Sun Microsystems is joining the board of directors at Altera, and two long-term directors are retiring.
John Shoemaker, former Executive Vice President of Sun Microsystems is joining the board of directors at Altera Shoemaker served 14 years in various executive management roles at Sun Microsystems, most recently as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Computer Systems Division

Altera has also announced the retirement of two long time directors.
Paul Newhagen, one of the founders of the company and William Terry, who has served on the board since 1994, will retire at the end of their current terms and will not seek re-election at the shareholders' meeting on 8th May 2007.
