Agere Systems has been recognised as one of the most popular integrated circuit (IC) brands in China for 2004 The award, which recognises outstanding performance by IC companies, was presented by the China centre for Information Industry Development (CCID), a leading IT/telecomms market consulting organisation, and China Electronic News, the top trade publication in China, at the IC Market China 2005 Annual Forum

The forum is led by China Semiconductor Industrial Association and CCID.
This year's theme was "Leading the market, pushing application innovation".
At the forum, IC manufacturers, network equipment providers, analysts and investment firms discussed IC market opportunities and hot topics in network communication, consumer electronics, auto electronics and technical control in the IC industry.
According to Mo Shao Kang, the Chief Judge, more than 10,000 votes were received from network equipment suppliers, senior analysts, media organisations, service providers and end users, who evaluated companies on localisation of their brands, profits in 2004 from the China region, innovation and quality of service.
A total of 10 awards were given to industry leaders including Agere, Philips, TI, Xilinx, Freescale, STMicro, Fujitsu, AMD, Renesas and QuickLogic for their outstanding achievement and contributions in 2004.
