QLogic Corp signs for serdes supply

QLogic Corp has chosen Agere as its system chip supplier for its new 4Gbit/s Fibre Channel application specific integrated circuit and host bus adapter storage area networking solutions.

QLogic Corp has chosen Agere as its system chip supplier for its new 4Gbit/s Fibre Channel (FC) application specific integrated circuit and host bus adapter (HBA) storage area networking (SAN) solutions.

The 4Gbit/s HBA FC SANblade 2400 series is deployed as both PCI Express and PCI-X 1.0/2.0 host bus interface products.

QLogic ranks first worldwide in revenues (43.7%) and ports shipped (48.1%, 1 million ports) for FC HBA equipment.

QLogic SANblade HBAs are popular with equipment manufacturers, channel customers and end users, because they feature broad operating system support and extremely high reliability, making them easy to install and manage.
