Agilent Technologies has announced a new serial infra-red (SIR) transceiver that is ideal for new-generation personal information devices, such as PDAs, which are becoming increasingly thinner and more compact These highly popular personal information devices capitalise on the infra-red link to enable widely used applications like business card exchange, data synchronisation, data and file transfer, as well as new applications like mobile commerce

With a profile of 2.7mm high by 9.1mm wide by 3.65mm deep, the Agilent HSDL-3000 is one of the smallest transceivers in the market.

Designed for power efficiency, the HSDL-3000 transceiver only consumes 10nA (typical) in shutdown mode.

The transceiver comes with an integrated shield that provides excellent EMI immunity.

Complying with IrDA standards, the new transceiver offers data transmission rates up to 115.2kbit/s at 1m link distances and operates from voltage supplies ranging from 2.7 to 5.5V. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
