LED displays run from 3.3V supplies
Agilent has developed the industry's first 3.3V LED dot-matrix alphanumeric "smart" displays to run directly from a 3.3V supply.
Agilent has developed the industry's first 3.3V LED dot-matrix alphanumeric "smart" displays to run directly from a 3.3V supply.
The new displays are compatible with today's standard 3.3V microprocessors and logic circuits, and add the intelligence needed to interface directly with the microprocessor or microcontroller without the need for extra interface components or voltage convertors, thereby simplifying power supply design and reducing board space and cost for manufacturers.
The Agilent HCMS-39XX serial interface displays allow high-character-count information to be displayed with a minimum of data lines.
The easy-to-read 5 x 7pixel format displays the full range of uppercase and lowercase ASCII characters, Katakana, and custom user-defined characters that are dot-addressable.
The displays are stackable in both x and y directions, making them ideal for creating compact, high-density information displays.
The Agilent 3.3V smart displays are supplied in four and eight character versions, each with a choice of 0.15 or 0.20in character height and red, orange and green LEDs.
AlInGaP (aluminium indium gallium phosphide) versions are available for applications calling for extra high brightness.
Each display module incorporates a CMOS IC complete with refresh and constant current LED drive circuitry.
The display is dot-addressable, and programmable features include blanking, multi-level dimming and sleep mode.
Samples and volume quantities of all 16 product types of the HCMS-39XX family are immediately available.
These products are offered both through Agilent's distribution partners.
The Agilent 3.3V smart displays also can be customised to meet specific customer requirements.
